Willoughby Bridge Montepulciano 2018 - NEW RELEASE
Our first release
This Vintage provided excellent growing conditions with sufficient rain late in the season. The outcome was perfectly ripened Montepulciano grapes to produce an intensely aromatic, textured, expressive wine.
The Winemaking
Vintage 2018 occurred in warm Autumn conditions after plentiful
Spring rainfalls and a mild summer, allowing for the development
of this intense, deeply coloured and perfumed Montepulciano.
Bottled in September 2019
The Vineyard
Montepulciano is an ancient red wine grape variety extensively
grown in Central Italy. It is hand cultivated at our family’s
Willoughby Bridge Vineyard, at Colbinabbin, in Northern
Heathcote, Central Victoria.
Here, a warm continental climate, Cambrian-era red soils, a
nd meticulous viticulture produce expressive
grapes of concentration, purity and regional identity.
